ooh and the civil war. I'm pretty rusty on the civil war, but here ya go
So, half of America wanted to keep slaves, but the other half believed it to be racist and unethical. We split in two and there were two American countries for a time. Anyway, President Lincoln was up in the North, and Robert E. Lee in the South. They fought each other a lot, and couldn't conclude a winner. Until, John Wilkes Booth shot Abraham in the back of his head. I don't remember much after that, but slavery was abolished after his death. Racism didn't end until probably the mid 1900's. Although, a few people are still racist today, AKA Republicans. (I'm republican, but I don't believe in racism. like, welfare and foodstamps should be abolished, but not because a majority of the people on those are black(fact, not stereotyping))
