Background
Born and raised in Sparta, Kratos was monitored, like all other younglings. During several tests, those that were deemed fit were to stay in Sparta to be trained as Spartan protectors, while those deemed unfit would be sent to the mountains, sealing their fates. Kratos, already feisty and aggressive at his young age, along with his brother, Deimos, trained, and dreamed of joining the Spartan army when they grow up. On an ill-fated day, when the young brothers were training outside their home, the city was raided by the Thalmor Elite Assassins, Rena and Urzek, and their army of high elves, in search of the Dragonborn. Urzek, seeing Deimos' birthmark as a sign of the prophecy, then snatched him away. In anger and desperation, Kratos attacked the assassin to save his brother, only for Urzek to smack Kratos back in to a pile of wood, leaving him with a scar.
Insulted by this, Urzek raised his sword to kill Kratos, but was stopped by Rena reminding him that they had what they were looking for. Before leaving, Rena apologized to Kratos, and disappeared into flames. The loss of his brother left an indelible mark on Kratos, as he vowed to never falter again. In honor of his brother, Kratos had this tattoo adorned on his skin, made in the exact image of Deimos' birthmark.
But as Kratos thought the two assassin left, Urzek came back and took Kratos with him. He left Kratos inside a cell for 5 days and passed him to the imperial army. Urzek told the imperial army that Kratos was a vicious criminal in the land of Sparta, that he is a slayer of women and pillager of villages. The imperial army took Kratos as a prisoner to Helgen to execute him. And on that fated day, Kratos' destiny is being made.
"Spartan Warrior never lets his back hit the ground. Even in death, a Spartan stands tall for battle."
