I'm level 7. I've just arrived at the Eldergleam Sanctuary, and a half-second before I can enter, the Dovahkiin theme music starts up and a dragon attacks. Lydia and Maurice instantly engage the dragon, of course, and refuse to enter Eldergleam Sanctuary with me. The dragon decides to make several passes around the geysers, aggroing everything nearby which then follows the dragon back to us. So at level 7, I am now facing: 1 dragon, 2 giants, 2 sabretooth cats, and an innumerable assortment of spiders, skeevers, and wolves -- all of which ignore each other and are only interested in eating me and my idiot followers, including the tissue paper Maurice, whom I need for the quest, and who wants to punch giants and dragons instead of following me into the cave.

What is your most utterly unfair encounter so far in Skyrim?

Bah, no such thing as an "unfair" encounter, only encounters that happen to test your patience and skill slightly more than others

My most challenging encounter in that regard...Finding a Falmer cave at level...6 I believe

THAT took alot of dancing I'll tell you now

Escort missions are, by their very nature, unfair. Escort missions with braindead AI are doubly unfair. Escort missions saddled with idiot suicidal NPCs and huge crowds of aggressive enemies which ignore each other are trebly unfair. Then to be facing with this with a low-level character whose specialty is conjuring and whose sole attack consists of summoning a flame atronach is just the icing on the cake.

All that means is that you have to up your game man! Maybe take up some conjuring, or sneak attack while your companions distract the buggers.

There is not a single challenge created by man that man cannot in turn overcome. Remember this! Pain, hardship? These are naught but temporary feelings. The glory of victory shall be eternal, especially one you've fought tooth and nail for!

00:00:00 - Attacked by dragon, 2 giants, and a thundering horde of assorted cats, rats, and zubats.

00:00:01 - Counterattack giant with steel dagger (fine) and boundless optimism.

00:00:03 - Attain stable orbit around Nirn.

Profit!

Master is the same as other difficulties, only the enemies hit harder and take alot more to kill. Far as I go, all that's ever meant is that I have to dance with them alot longer. Doesn't make anything unfair, you still have the massive advantage over enemies of actually being able to think properly, rather than use artificial intelligence
