We all know (at least, I hope) about the 12/21/12 apocalypse theories, most of them being either (a), Armageddon, (b) the Rapture, or (c) Planet X and the Lizard people. Personally, I don't believe any of these will happen,

(But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard, keep awake. For you do not know when the time will come. It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants in charge, each know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning - lest he come suddenly and find you asleep. Mark 13:32-37)

What I do believe is what will happen when people assume their actions won't matter anyway. Tell me, if you could do whatever you wanted one night, and the next day it wouldn't matter, what would you do? I can think of several horrible things.

This is going to sound like something out of Doctor Who (they love to confuse you with twists and paradoxes), but here's what I think will happen. I forsee a potential worldwide economy collapse. The economy is already teetering on the edge of a cliff, all it needs is a push at this point. People will do everything they always wanted to do but never did because of the repercussions. "Want to have sex with your hot cousin? Go ahead! It won't matter in a little while anyway!" People will flock to casinos in droves to gamble away all the money they've got. Kids will try cigarettes and cocaine, get addicted, and be stuck with it because the world isn't ending. People will run their credit cards up. They'll destroy anything they want. They'll riot and steal, and basically cause the apocalypse themselves (Not unlike a predestination paradox).

What if the 12/21/12 prophecy comes true, not because there's some natural disaster or apocalypse, but because of what people do, thinking there will be one? They'll cause the very thing they're so scared about.

And it's going to happen tonight.

(I know this sounds drastic, but I'm serious.)
